Two Big Trends of Summer Camp in the U.S.A.
캠프기간이 짧은 프로그램들(Overnight and day camps) 덕분에 campers are getting younger 캠프에 가는 아이들의 연령이 점점 어려지고 있다.
To cater to kids' interests and talent camps are becoming more specialized.(아이들의 흥미와 재능에 맞추기 위해) 캠프가 점점 전문화되고 있다.
ex. invention camps(발명 캠프), performing-art classes(공연 예술 캠프), biotechnology(생물 과학 캠프), marine science(해양 과학 캠프), etc.
To Find the Best program for Your Child.
Regardless of the age of your child, the parent must make an effort to understand what the child wants and why.
- Learn new skills, develop more self confidence, improving profiency in certain area, become more independent?
What is the schedule like? Is it a structured program or one that emphasizes a lot of free choice?
What percentatge of campers return each year?
What facilities does the camp have and how convenient are they for campers to get to? (sleeping arrangements, toilets, shower facilities exist)
What is the food like and who prepares it?
