V: In my case, unfortunately, I have allergies to animals. But I've ¡ª I've always been a dog person, if I have to choose, 'cause we grew up with a dog. Usually we had ¡ª always had a dog in our house. But as a small child, even though I had these allergies, I would pick up stray little kittens and bring them home, and my mother, of course, was terrified, because within an hour I'd have, you know, asthma attacks, and be sneezing and ¡ª
J: Right. My sister is exactly the same way, and we had, like, three cats.
V: Oh!
J: And we also had dogs, but we lived next to the mountains, and ¡ª and finally my sister had a really bad asthma attack and my dad said, "That's it. No more cats." And then we got rid of the cats, and a week later we had mice and rats move in.
