The Great Stone Face (3)
|
|
When the people's minds had had a chance to cool,
they were ready to admit that they had made a mistake in imagining that there was a resemblance between the general,
Old Blood and Thunder, and the Great Stone Face. But now, again, there were rumors and reports
in the newspapers stating that another man had appeared, a great statesman, who greatly resembled the
Great Stone Face in every detail. This man also was a native of the valley but had left it many years ago and had entered politics.
