The Boys and the Frogs

One day, a number of boys were playing by the side of a pond, and some of them threw stones into the water for fun. Now, in this pond there lived many frogs, and one frog after another was hit by the stones which the boys threw. So at last, an old frog put his head up out of the pond, and said, "Boys, please don't pelt us so." "We are only playing," said the boys. "I know that," said the frog, "but see how the stones hurt us!" You may throw the stones just for fun, but what is play to you is death to us."


소년과 개구리
