The Donkey and the Load of Salt (3)

The next day the Donkey was taken to the town for another load of salt. When, on their way home, they came to the same steam, the Donkey fell down on purpose and again the load was made light. As they were walking along, the man said to himself, "I must cure the Donkey of this trick. I think I'll play a trick myself." So the next time he filled the bags with sponges. The Donkey trotted gaily along the road. "My load is light, but I'll make it lighter," thought he. They soon came to the same stream, and the Donkey fell down into the deepest place. When he got up, the sponges were so heavy with water that he could hardly walk. So trying to cheat his master, he only cheated himself.
