The Country Mouse and the City Mouse (4)

The Mice jumped off the table, and ran into a hole in the floor. The poor little country Mouse was so frightened!
"Do not be afraid," said his friend. "The Dog cannot come in here." Then the Mice went to the kitchen. They
found an apple pie on the shelf, and were helping themselves to a piece of it, when they saw two bright eyes
watching them.
"The Cat! The Cat!" cried the City Mouse, and the Mice ran through a hole in the wall as fast as
theyt could go. When the Country Mouse could speak, he said, "Good-bye, my friend. You may live in the city
with the dogs and cats. I like my home in the country." "The birds sing to me while I eat my corn and apples. The
cats watch you while you eat your cake and pie." "I like my corn in safety better than your cake in fear."

시골 쥐와 도시 쥐 (4)
쥐들은 식탁에서 뛰어내려 마루 속의 구멍으로 달려 들어갔습니다. 불쌍한 조그만 시골 쥐는 너무나 무서웠습니다!
"무서워하지 마!" 그의 친구가 말했습니다. "개는 여기로 들어올수 없으니까." 그리고 나서 쥐들은 부엌으로 갔습니다.
그들은 선반에서 애플파이를 발견하고, 한 조각을 맛있게 먹고 있었는데, 그때 두 개의 빛나는 눈이
자기들을 지켜보고 있는 것을 보았습니다.
"고양이다! 고양이다!" 도시 쥐가 외치자, 쥐들은 사력을 다해
벽속의 구멍으로 달려 들어갔습니다. 시골 쥐가 말을 할 수 있게 되자, 이렇게 말했습니다.
"잘 있어, 내 친구. 너는 도시에서 개들과 고양이들과 함께 살 수 있겠지. 나는 시골에 있는 내 집이 좋아."
"새들이 내가 옥수수와 사과를 먹는 동안 내게 노래를 불러줘. 고양이들은 네가 케이크와 파이를 먹는 동안 너를
지켜봐.": "나는 두려움 속에서 먹는 네 케이크보다 안전하게 먹는 내 옥수수가 더 좋아."
