This pleased the boy so much that a few days afterward he tried he same trick, and again the villagers came to his help. But shortly after this a Wolf really did come out from the forest, and began to worry the sheep, and the boy of course cried out. “Wolf! Wolf!” still louder than before. But this time the villagers, who had been fooled twice before, thought the boy was again deceiving them, and nobody went to his help. So the Wolf made a good meal of the boy’s flock.

이것이 소년을 매우 즐겁게 했으므로 며칠 후 소년은 같은 장난을 쳤으며, 다시 마을 사람들이 도우러 왔습니다. 그러나 이 일이 있은 지 얼마 안 되어 늑대가 정말로 숲에서 나와 양들을 괴롭히기 시작했고, 소년은 물론 전보다 훨씬 크게 “늑대야! 늑대야!” 하고 소리쳤습니다. 그러나 이번에는 전에 두 번이나 속은 마을 사람들은 소년이 다시 자기들을 속인다고 생각하고, 아무도 그를 도우러 가지 않았습니다. 그래서 늑대는 그 소년의 양떼를 배불리 먹었습니다.
