The Two Pots

A river carried down, in its stream, two Pots, one made of earthenware, and the other of brass. The Brass Pot was dispensed to be social. “Since we are companions in this way, let us be friendly,” he said. But the Earthen Pot said, “Pray, keep at a distance, and do not come so near me. I am as much afraid of you as of the river; for if you do but touch me ever so slightly, I shall be sure to break.”

두 개의 항아리
한 강이 흐르면서 두 개의 항아리를 떠내려 보냈는데, 하나는 토기이고 다른 하나는 놋쇠로 만들어졌습니다. 놋쇠 항아리는 사교적인 성품이었습니다. “우리가 이렇게 해서 친구가 되었으니, 친하게 지내자.” 그가 말했습니다. 그러나 토기 항아리는 말했습니다. “부탁이야, 멀리 떨어져서, 내게 그렇게 가까이 오지 말아줘. 나는 강만큼이나 네가 무서워. 네가 내게 살짝 닿기만 해도 나는 깨질 테니까.”
