Wilhelm forgot all his cares. He watched every motion of the child. He almost forgot who and where he was.
When the dance was ended, Mignon rolled the eggs together with her foot into a little heap. Not one was left behind, not one was harmed.
Then she took the band from her eyes, and made a little bow.
Wilhelm thanked her for showing him a dance that was so wonderful and pretty. He praised her, petted her, and hoped that she had not tired herself too much.

빌헬름은 그의 모든 근심을 잊었습니다. 그는 그 아이의 모든 동작을 지켜 보았습니다. 그는 자신이 누구이며 어디에 있는지도 거의 잊어버렸습니다.
춤이 끝나자 미뇽은 계란을 발로 굴려 작은 더미를 만들었습니다. 한 개도 남기지 않았으며, 한 개도 깨어지지 않았습니다. 그러자 여자 아이는 눈에서 띠를 풀고는 가볍게 인사했습니다.
빌헬름은 자기에게 그처럼 훌륭하고 아름다운 춤을 보여준 것에 대해 감사했습니다. 그는 아이를 칭찬하고 토닥거려 주면서, 너무 지치지 않았으면 하고 바랬습니다.
