 이곳 캐나다의 The Globe and Mail 지에는 괴한이 유학생들의 아파트에 침입해 살해하는 사건이 보도되어 있다. 유학생들의 각별한 주의가 요망된다.

The father of two Taiwanese students savagely stabbed in a Toronto basement apartment last week, one of them fatally, says he believes his daughters will forgive their attacker. Tina Wu, 18, died of multiple stab wounds and her sister, Teresa, 14, was seriously wounded in the attack on Thursday.

Yesterday, the girls' father, whose name is not being released, called on the attacker to surrender to authorities. 'I believe that my daughters will forgive the person(s) who attacked both girls and killed Tina.' the father, a devout Buddhist, wrote in Chinese.

The Wu sisters arrived in Toronto on Canada Day and were taking English classes. Tina attended the University of Toronto and Teresa studied at the Hansa Language Centre of Toronto. They were living in an aunt's basement apartment on Sheppard Avenue East in North York where the attack took place.

    어제, 이름을 밝히지 않은 그 여학생들의 아버지는 범인이 자수하기를 당부했다. "내 딸들에게 피해를 입혀 Tina의 목숨을 앗아가게 했던 그 범인(들)을 내딸들은 용서하리라고 믿습니다."라고 독실한 불교신자인 그 아버지는 한자로 심정을 표현했다.

    Wu 자매는 Canada Day(7월 1일)에 Toronto에 도착해 Tina 는 Toronto 대학에서, Teresa는 Toronto 의 Hansa Language Center에서 각자 영어수업을 받고 있었다. 그들은 사건이 발생했던 North York지역의 Sheppard Avenue East에 위치한 숙모의 지하 아파트에 살고 있었다.
