what's the point of something? 하면 어떤 것의 포인트(요지)가 무엇이야? 즉 '그걸 해 봤자 소용이 없다'는 것을 나타낼 때 쓴다. 같은 뜻으로 It's no use taking..., It won't matter a bit if you take...(조금도 소용이 없다.), It makes no difference to take... (별 차이가 없다.) 등이 있다.

W: I know, the heat and humidity get to me too.
M: I must've taken 5 showers today!
W: What's the point of taking a shower? You just start sweating again right afterwards.
M: 윽, 난 정말 한국의 여름이 싫어.
W: 알아, 그 열기랑 습도 정말 짜증나게 한다구.
M: 오늘 다섯 번은 샤워를 했을 거야.
W: 샤워를 해봤자 무슨 소용이야? 하자마자 다시 땀이 날 텐데.
