[Medical Service] 우리나라에서 시행된지 얼마 안 된 의약분업에 반대하는 의사들(all doctors who disagree new drug subscription law to take effect next month)의 의학 분쟁(walkout or all-out strike to shut down hospitals)으로 인해 온 나라가 진통을 겪었습니다(causes chaos nationwide). 오늘은 이에 대한 어휘들과 미국의 mediacal service를 살펴 보려 합니다. ★ 관련 어휘 rebuke government promise: 정부의 약속에 반박하다. mass strike: 집단 파업 a measure intended to prevent rampant side effects from self prescribed 111medicine: 자가 판단 조제에서 오는 무수한 약물 (오용)남용을 막으려는 조치 easy access to drugs: 약을 쉽게 쓸 수 있는 경로 civilian organizations: 시민 단체들 issue statements: 성명을 발표하다 dissuade physicians from the strike: 분쟁을 막으려고 호소하다. urgent patients: 응급환자 undermine (weaken, ruin) the medical system: 의료계에 해를 끼치다. take punitive actionss against who defy orders to return to work: 병원으로 돌아111가라는 명령을 어긴 이들을 처벌하다. private clinics: 개인 병원 the Korea Medical Association: 대한 의사 협회 to demand direct action by the president himself: 대통령의 특단조치를 요구 ★ Medical Service In The U.S.A (Ⅰ) 미국은 의약 분업이 철저히 분리되어 있어(there is a clear line on drug subscription authority) 처방은 의사가 하고 조제(to prepare medicines)는 약사(pharmacist)가 한다. 소비자가(customer)가 약사에게 조제를 받으려면, 의사의 진료를 받은 후 처방전(prescription)을 들고, pharmacy(전문적으로 약을 조제해 주는 곳)가 있는 약국(drugstore)를 찾아야 한다. 처방전이 없어도 구입이 가능한 약은 over-the-counter medication이라고 한다. 안전하긴 하지만 instructions(지시 사항)과 warnings(경고 문구)를 잘 읽어봐야 한다. over-the-counter medication에는 제약 회사 상표가 붙은 brand medication와 별다른 상표가 없는 generic medication이 있다. 성분은 거의 비슷하지만 후자의 경우는 제약회사(a pharmaceutical company)의 광고(ads)가 들어가지 않기 때문에 brand medication에 비해 훨씬 가격이 저렴하다.
