미국 TV는 remocon으론 못 돌린다

'리모콘'은 aircon처럼 remote control을 줄여 만든 말이다. 영어에서는 remote control이라고 하거나, remote라고 줄여서 말한다. TV는 물론 비디오, 오디오 등을 모두 제어할 수 있는 '만능 리모콘'은 universal remote라고 한다.


A: Where's the remote control?
B: Which one, the VCR or the TV?
A: Neither, the stereo remote.
B: Oh, it's under the cushion.

A: 리모콘이 어디 있지?
B: 어떤 거, 비디오? TV?
A: 아니, 오디오 리모콘.
B: 아, 쿠션 밑에 있어.
